Wenger’s Transcend Active Acoustic System is covered in a detailed, seven-page article penned by audio production industry reporter Mel Lambert. Lambert interviews Wenger’s Director of Design Engineering Ron Freiheit and Transcend Project Manager Denny Meyer, delving deep into the system’s development, design and how it represents the latest evolution of Wenger’s Virtual Acoustic Environment practice and rehearsal rooms that it has created in partnership with audio industry giant HARMAN.

IMG_20160615_105413Lambert also details the first installation of the Transcend system, at Warburg College’s Neumann Auditorium, where Wenger and HARMAN’s active acoustics have transformed the mid-century venue from an acoustically dry, outdated space into a state-of-the-art performance venue. Wartburg Director of Choral Activities Dr. Lee Nelson sings the praises of Transcend, saying, “Throughout the first year of operation, Transcend has performed wonderfully each time we’ve used it.”

Wartburg Senior Gift Planner Don Meyer is equally effusive about Wenger’s professionalism, stating, “Wenger has always responded to our needs, and were very accommodating. They were extremely thorough when looking at what it was going to take to put this project together.”IMG_20160615_105541
Elsewhere in the issue, J.R. Clancy is cited for its involvement in renovation of one of the nation’s most storied theaters: the University of Minnesota’s Northrop Auditorium, known as the “Carnegie Hall of the Midwest.” Clancy provided all stage rigging for the ambitious $88-million renovations, which has earned praise for improving the functionality, accessibility, staging and acoustics of the venue while maintaining the luxurious feel of the 1920s building. Being trusted to be the exclusive rigging contractor on a project of this magnitude and prestige is another example of J.R. Clancy’s status as the world’s premier rigging company, and we’re proud to have been able to take part in helping revitalize this amazing facility.
